Mitsui To Enhance Thai Output

Hollow fiber spunbond materials target high end diapers

Mitsui Chemicals will produce polypropylene-based spunbonded nonwoven fabrics with hollow fibers at MHM company, its subsidiary located in Thailand, starting next year. The need for a high-performance nonwovens has incraeased with the proliferation of disposable diapers in Southeast Asia and Misuti has responded with a material that is superior in strength and flexibility,

MHM currently operates  two spunbond lines and will be able to make the hollow fibers material with an upgrade to the existing equipment at the facility. This effort will start with just one of the lines but the company plans to eventually convert all production in Thailand to value-added nonwovens.
